This page aims to give you a comprehensive overview of our company’s capabilities and experience. It is easy to state that some companies have “proven experience” in their field, but it is often hard to prove. We can confirm that the MINSTECH team has accomplished more than 300 projects and has worked in close to 50 countries.

Listed below are some of the projects where we have served as the primary contractor or sub-contractor.


Orbit AL-7208 | TVRO System | MINS Technologies Canada

SHIP NAME: CASTORO 10

SYSTEM: New ORBIT 2.4m TVRO system- AL-7208
PLACE: Singapore
YEAR: 2011
PROJECT TYPE: New System Installation
CONTRACT: Sub-contract

This project was ordered and supported by Orbit Singapore Pte Ltd. The assembly and installation took place at the ST Marine Shipyard facilities (Singapore) where the vessel passed the refit works. A new Orbit system has been ordered in replacement of the old Seatel TVRO antenna. The system assembly and installation took us 4 full days.


SHIP NAME: Thomson Dream

SYSTEM: ORBIT AL-7109- 2.8m C-band VSAT
PLACE: Cadiz, Spain
YEAR: 2016
PROJECT TYPE: Refit (Mid-Life Service)
CONTRACT: Primary

The objective of this project was to respond to the system’s mid-life condition and rectify several mechanical and electronic issues. The target of the service is to extend the antenna life for other 5-8 years.

We purchased and shipped the new positioner (first stage of the project). The team of two service engineers accomplished the job during the ship’s dry dock operation (second stage of the project).

ORBIT AL-7103 Midlife Service | VSAT Canada

SHIP NAME: Northern Adventure

SYSTEM: ORBIT AL-7103 MKII “ORSAT” – 1.2m Ku-band VSAT
PLACE: Vancouver, Canada
YEAR: 2013
PROJECT TYPE: Mid-Life Service
CONTRACT: Primary

The objective was to extend the system lifespan by replacing all major mechanical parts to new units. The Mid-Life Service KIT has been purchased. We have ordered the “custom” kit, which included the parts and LRUs required for this particular project, leaving aside some standard elements of the kit. A team of two service engineers accomplished the job during the ship’s yearly refit operation.

The service included two-day sea trial while the service engineer was monitoring the system performance during sailing. The dynamic test and final alignments have been done during sea trial.


SHIP NAME: Williston Transporter

SYSTEM: ORBIT AL-7103 MKII “ORSAT” – 1.3m Ku-band VSAT
PLACE: British Columbia, Canada
YEAR: 2016
PROJECT TYPE: VSAT system lease
CONTRACT: Primary

The project was ordered and supported by CANFOR – the Canadian forest products leader. This VSAT system was installed onboard the log transporter running in the lake. We offered this system lease, supported by MINSTECH airtime plan named “MINS-TRIO”. The client received satellite Internet, VOIP phones, and HD TV reception using this single Marine Satellite Antenna.

This project included the installation of some additional navigation equipment and cabling works. The system delivery, installation, integration, and tests have taken four days with a crew of two service engineers.

SHIP NAME: Costa Pacifica

SYSTEM: ORBIT AL-7109- 2.8m C-band VSAT / SeaTel 9711-44 2.4m Ku-band VSAT
PLACE: St.Petersburg, Russia
YEAR: 2016
PROJECT TYPE: Preventive maintenance
CONTRACT: Sub-contract

This project was a part of the annual preventive maintenance for the system under a service contract.

The project objectives were:
– system check-up for any new issues raised from last year’s maintenance
– the system hardware (gear/motors) replacement due the end of the MTBF period
– the IT hardware upgrade by installing new elements of the IT rack
– new feed hardware installation in order to access new types of wireless communications (WIMAX)
– new remote control elements( TCPIP remote spectrum analyzer) installation
– Of-Band –management (Iridium) audit
– antennae blockage chart creation
– line-loss examination for both – coax and F/O ADE-BDE lines
– basic PM procedures including cleaning, greasing etc.

The manpower involved – two service engineers for a two-day job.
